Belfield has launched two new potato products under its Cream of the Crop brand. The American-style Cross Cut Fries and Curly Fries extend the Cream of the Crop range of speciality potato products to 12, and will be available from leading independent retailers.
Both of the new lines have been developed in response to customer demand for more choice in the frozen potato products range, particularly oven baked varieties. Cream of the Crop is a 43-product-strong retail brand which also incorporates a wide range of frozen vegetables ideal for one-pot stews and family meals, including sliced and diced carrots and peppers, peas and sweetcorn, and a variety of vegetable mixes.
Ian King, Belfield director, said: “New product development like this is important for us to progress in order for us to meet growing consumer demand and keep the range fresh. Cream of the Crop’s speciality potato lines are one of Belfield’s most popular, in particular in the growing convenience sector which is looking to compete with the larger retailers by offering as wide a selection as possible. The Cross Cut and Curly Fries have been launched in direct response to requests from retailers who are after a cost-competitive option for some familiar favourites.
“Quick and easy to cook, Cream of the Crop Cross Cut and Curly Fries are a tasty option to accompany a family meal. And, because frozen products are used straight from the freezer, they are simple to store and can help families to cut down on waste.”
